you know who's a band i often forget about? nada surf. you know why they're good? 'cause they're not boring. they like to mix it up and keep their fans ON THEIR TOES, which is something i look for in my musical choices.
with lyrics like:
being attractive is the most important thing there is.
if you wanna catch the biggest fish in your pond,
you have to be as attractive as possible.
make sure to keep your hair spotless and clean.
wash it at least every two weeks.
once every two weeks!
and if you see johnny football hero in the hall,
tell him he played a great game!
tell him you like his article in the newspaper!
how can you go wrong?
homework assignment: go listen to fruit fly, and then popular. compare and contrast.
or, you know... watch the video for popular RIGHT HERE.
UPDATE!!!
i've realized that i only REALLY like popular. while i can't say that i actively DISLIKE the rest of their songs, popular is the only one that really revs my engine, and i think it's interesting to note how different they are. although i guess i can't say that i haven't changed since 1996. uh... just forget about this blog post.

So I really didn't care for Nada Surf, and then I heard that song in like middle school or something and forgot they existed shortly after that. Then my friend Steve was ALL ABOUT Nada Surf and made me go to a show with him and some of our other friends and now I really like them.
You have to be in the right mood to like them. They have some very nice songs... I really like "Killian's Red", and "Blankest Year".
