mirror, father, mirror.

this winter i started talking somewhat regularly with my cohorts about the fact that i wanted to put out a zine that was all mine. i've contributed to a few, and the satisfaction i get out of seeing them put out is decidedly sub-par.

so then earlier during this very day, i was with trevor christensen (of the provo christensens and portrait photography fame) and he was asking me what exactly i wanted out of my zine, and what i wanted it to be. this question was far more difficult to answer than i thought it would be, but after some careful consideration, i figured it out. go me.

thinking about the art i like, specifically the things i like to read, i figured out that what i like is when i can imagine what it feels like to be the writer/artist/whatever. i want people to be able to read and look at my zine and say, "huh. that's what that weird chick thinks about all day." you know what i mean, jelly bean?

and just for visual stimuli: here's a scene from ghost world (which is a brilliant film that everyone should watch) that verbalizes what i mean in a hilarious way.
