books are always better.

invariably, books are always better than their film adaptations, but sometimes the films aren't so bad. i am particularly excited for a couple of them. julia stiles producing and starring in the bell jar later this year, and brazilian director walter salles releasing a black and white on the road sometime next year. i think both could come out more than decent.
